How Does My Donation Benefit the Foundation? PDF Print

First of all, your donation to the Genesee County Bar Foundation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law and can be designated toward a specific activity or program. Donors have the option of making a designation in the following areas.

Restricted Fund

  • Louis D. MacGregor fund for the continuing legal education of members of the Genesee County Bar Association.
  • Earl J. Cline fund to support networking, educational and social activities for the Genesee County Bar Association Young Lawyers.
  • Annual Holiday Dinner fund to feed the less fortunate of our community.
  • Building Fund for long-term capitol improvements to the bar association office.
  • Endowment fund for the preservation of the Foundation.

Unrestricted Fund

  • Funds raised to support community based activities such as Law Day, Senior Outreach and Teens & The Law.

Additionally, the Genesee County Bar Foundation would consider establishing a donor designated fund in honor of an individual pertaining to a special activity.

You may indicate a specific dollar amount or asset. Suggested language could include:

I give, bequeath and devise (dollar amount or description of asset or percentage of estate) to the Genesee County Bar Foundation, in the County of Genesee, City of Flint, in the State of Michigan.

Do I tell the Foundation that I’ve made a bequest?

It is not necessary, but the Foundation would appreciate the opportunity to recognize your donation and keep you apprised of various activities.
