The Genesee County Bar Foundation is pleased to offer you the opportunity to apply for the John S. Beagle Scholarship, open to those from Genesee County, Michigan, in their junior or senior year of law school (equivalent Level 2 or Level 3). Attorney Beagle was an esteemed member of our organization, so please take a moment to read the attached information about him. It explains his commitment to our community and why this fund was established.
The deadline for the scholarship application is May 1st of each year, timed to coordinate with Law Day. Law Day is a celebration of the rule of law across our country and we host a series of activities in collaboration with the Genesee County Bar Association. After the deadline, the selection committee will review all applications and interview a select few. Everyone who applies for a scholarship will be notified of the outcome by early summer.
There is one criteria for those chosen as scholarship recipients: mandatory graduation from law school. Failure to graduate from law school will result in the forfeiture and repayment of the scholarship.
